New Engines, Technology and Styling for 2018 Ford F-150
Truck buyers across the country have loved Ford’s tough, aluminum-alloy-bodied F-150 since its introduction three years ago. For 2018 Ford is bringing some major upgrades to the F-150, with new styling, enhanced technology, more safety features and an available all-new 3.0-liter Power Stroke turbo diesel engine.
The biggest change on the outside is the bold new front and rear styling, including new grilles, headlamps and bumpers which make every F-150 series unique, from the XL to the Limited. The 2018 Ford F-150 also has six all-new wheel designs ranging from 17 to 22 inches. Two new seating trim colors are available on the Platinum and Limited models, and the King Ranch F-150 features luxurious new Kingsville Appointed seats.
The 2018 Ford F-150 is also receiving new driver assistance features, such as a segment-first available adaptive cruise control system with stop-and-go functionality. Other new technologies include a Pre-Collision Assist system with Pedestrian Detection, a 4G LTE modem with built-in Wi-Fi hot spot and a new B&O PLAY audio system.
A thoroughly updated engine lineup is also new for the 2018 F-150, with an all-new standard 3.3-liter V6 engine with direct injection for increased efficiency, but with the same power and torque of the previous engine. The 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 and new, second-generation 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 are now paired to 10-speed automatic transmissions. An upgraded 5.0-liter V8 engine is also available with the 10-speed.
Joining other diesel Ford vehicles like the Super Duty and Transit, the 2018 Ford F-150 will be available with an all-new 3.0-liter Power Stroke diesel engine. This new engine was designed, engineered and tested in-house by Ford, offers excellent torque and improved fuel economy, and is mated to the new 10-speed automatic transmission.
