You can never know too much when it comes to your next model. Research is a vital aspect of car shopping and at Five Star Ford Dallas, we want to help you learn all you can about the Ford lineup. So, what we’ve done is create various resources for learning about Ford models, such as the Ford Expedition.

If you’re curious to learn about the trims, performance, interior space, capability, or any other spec or feature of this SUV, we have you covered. The more you dig into the resources we’ve created, the better understanding you’ll have of the Expedition. When the time comes, we’ll be happy to arrange a test drive.

Plenty of Ford Expedition Trims to Pick From

Ford understands the Expedition has to cater to diverse drivers’ needs. The SUV is always going to be capable and roomy, yet you can alter traits such as the styling or feature list by choosing from different trim levels. In all, the Expedition has nine trims available.

The list starts with the XL STX and from there moves to the XLT, XLT Max, and Limited. The luxuriousness of the cabin is ramped up further with favorites, like the Limited Max, King Ranch, and King Ranch Max.

Rounding out the list would be the Platinum and Platinum Max. Choosing the fully loaded version of the 3-row SUV means access to features like a panoramic vista roof and the acclaimed multi-contour seats with Active Motion®.

Choosing Your Ford Expedition Performance and Capability

Ford continues to offer customizability when it comes to the performance of the Ford Expedition, too. Depending on how you have the SUV arranged, you can alter its maximum towing capacity or on-road driving dynamics.

The sole engine of the large vehicle is a 3.5L V6 making 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. Fuel economy in its most efficient form checks in at 17 city MPG/ 23 highway MPG according to EPA-estimates. The fuel-tank capacity measures 23.2 gallons in the Expedition and 27.8 gallons in the longer Expedition MAX.

2022 Ford Expedition Tech

A 10-speed automatic transmission will move you from one gear to the next, always working to keep you within the engine’s powerband.

Drive types include a rear-wheel drivetrain (RWD) or Control Trac® 4-wheel drive (4WD). Choosing 4WD makes sense if you plan on going off-roading or drive in heavy weather conditions throughout the winter.

Finally, you can achieve a maximum towing capacity of 9,300 pounds if you have the Expedition equipped with the right packages in a 4X2 drivetrain setup.
