Ford continues to offer customizability when it comes to the performance of the Ford Expedition, too. Depending on how you have the SUV arranged, you can alter its maximum towing capacity or on-road driving dynamics.
The sole engine of the large vehicle is a 3.5L V6 making 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. Fuel economy in its most efficient form checks in at 17 city MPG/ 23 highway MPG according to EPA-estimates. The fuel-tank capacity measures 23.2 gallons in the Expedition and 27.8 gallons in the longer Expedition MAX.
A 10-speed automatic transmission will move you from one gear to the next, always working to keep you within the engine’s powerband.
Drive types include a rear-wheel drivetrain (RWD) or Control Trac® 4-wheel drive (4WD). Choosing 4WD makes sense if you plan on going off-roading or drive in heavy weather conditions throughout the winter.
Finally, you can achieve a maximum towing capacity of 9,300 pounds if you have the Expedition equipped with the right packages in a 4X2 drivetrain setup.
