XL STX

Although mainly a 7- or 8-passenger model, the base level of XL STX actually comes with a 5-passenger configuration. This flexibility allows smaller families to take advantage of what the Expedition has to offer while enjoying a vehicle better suited to their needs.

The base level starts you off with a standard V6 engine that generates 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. You’ll continue to see this same engine on a number of the other trim levels, and this power will be sufficient for many drivers.

You’ll also find comfortable cloth seats and an 8-way power driver’s seat for added customization. Informative technology includes a 12-inch touchscreen, while safety technology comes standard via the Ford Co-Pilot360™ suite.

XLT

On the XLT trim, you’ll get the chance to upgrade some of your technology offerings. For example, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go is now available, and the Reverse Sensing System comes standard. With both, you’ll take on the highway with ease and securely find your next parking space.

This is the first trim level to sport 8-passenger seating. When you don’t have a full cabin, you can fold one or both rear rows down. The second row uses a 40/20/40 split-fold, while the third row has the standard 60/40-split PowerFold® third-row seat. When both rows are down, you can utilize up to 104.6 cubic feet of space.

Timberline

The Timberline trim level is for the toughest drivers. With an incredible assortment of performance-focused features, you’ll be able to take on all sorts of terrain.

A different engine comes standard here: a high-output 3.5L V6 option. Now, you’ll experience up to 440 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque, along with 9,200 pounds of maximum towing capacity when properly equipped. This trim level features a standard 4×4 drivetrain, unlike the previous levels that offered a standard 4×2. As such, you’ll have greater grip on the road as you venture on more diverse pathways.

Limited

If you like a little more luxury, you’ll see it here on the Limited trim of the Expedition. Standard heated and ventilated front seats, a Remote Start System, and ambient lighting are just some of the fun features you’ll find inside.

On the outside, this is the first trim to offer LED taillamps. An upgrade will bring you LED headlamps and fog lamps as well. When it’s time to load up the cargo, the standard hands-free foot-activated liftgate is sure to prove useful.

King Ranch

The King Ranch trim will display its name in fun ways throughout the cabin to show off the level you selected. Unique leather will be found on both the steering wheel and seats. The seats even sport a specific King Ranch logo for an extra touch of exclusivity.

This is also the first level to offer standard Enhanced Active Park Assist, a system that will conveniently help you move into and get out of a parallel parking space. For extra parking precision, there’s even a standard 360-Degree Camera.

Platinum

The Platinum trim comes with the same V6 engine on the base level, but this time, it’s been improved upon to now produce up to 400 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque. This is also the only trim level to feature a standard continuously controlled damping suspension system.

The Platinum trim will offer many of the same amenities mentioned previously, like heated and ventilated front seats and a hands-free foot-activated liftgate. The full Ford Co-Pilot360â„¢ Technology suite is standard, with features like the Adaptive Cruise Control mentioned earlier as well as the Lane-Keeping System.

Elements of those two systems, along with Speed Sign Recognition, will be seen through the available Ford BlueCruise, a hands-free highway driver-assistive feature. When you merge into a hands-free Blue Zone on the highway, you’ll be able to rest your arms for a more relaxing drive.
